This Divided State (2005)

This Divided State is a documentary shot in the fall of 2004, just before the Presidential Elections. The student government of UVSC (Utah Valley State College) decided to sponsor a visit by controversial filmmaker Michael Moore. From there, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE, CUZ MICHAEL MOORE IS THE DEVIL!!!

The closed mindedness of the conservatives protesting this visit was abundant. They pissed and moaned about MM charging $40K for his speaker's fee, yet when good ole' boy Sean Hannity decided he'd make the trip to COUNTER Moore's propaganda, costing the school the SAME AMOUNT, these people were nowhere to be found. Watch as an ignorant neighbor to the school talks about "protecting his children" from the REAL WORLD. Kay Andersen is truly evil incarnate.

The most amazing part of this movie were the real Americans defending Michael Moore's right to speak, and the student government's right to have him. Most of these young people were conservatives themselves, and realized the threat to EVERY Americans' right to Free Speech.

I highly recommend this movie. Not only because of the subject, but also as an insight into a young Mormon's life. ALL Mormon Men are required to go on Missionary right out of high school. This is where most of these kids felt the threat the most. They were fully aware that without the First Amendment, they would be unable to fulfill this calling. Also, MORMONS GET MARRIED YOUNG! And when you watch the extras, you'll see they be making them babies too!
