Action: Death Proof

Death Proof (2007)

Plain and simple, this movie sucked. It was twice as long as it should have been, and in some instances, completely pointless. Why even write dialogue if you're just going to cut it out via some sort of crappy effect in your editing software? Very Very Very disappointing.

Don't get me wrong, I gave this movie a chance. As a matter of fact, I WANTED to like it. But it was too long, all of the crappy retro splices proved that Tarantino knew he was making a shitty movie, and the ending SUCKED.

I figure I'm probably going to hear some statements like "you probably didn't get the premise" or "you just didn't get what he was trying to do." I completely get it. Do you know why "cult" movies became "cult" movies? They were typically box office busts, and were played at midnight on the weekends, since most theater owners know the midnight crowd (stoners) would pretty much pay to see anything at that time.

So congratulations to Quentin Tarantino: you made a shitty, long movie that didn't have to be either. You succeeded in filming probably the coolest car chase in the last decade, and for that I won't rate this as bad as it should be.

don't bother
